Episode 4 - Phantom pain explained!

Aug. 11, 2025

As human beings we are all fearful of pain. No one likes to experience or feel pain, whether that be physical or emotional pain. Pain is not something that any of us enjoys. One topic that is very common for many people who have experienced amputation, is phantom pain and phantom sensation. Today we’re going to discuss phantom pain, why people experience both the pain and sensation and what we can do to manage and live with phantom pain and phantom sensation. @Limbs4Life are creating a series of videos that cover a broad range of topics that help amputees through their journey. In a nutshell, we want to break down the barriers to amputation so that you can make educated and informed decisions and live the best life that you can. 'A Practical Guide For Amputees' was developed for people who are facing, or who have recently experienced amputation. You can view and download the guide here: https://www.limbs4life.org.au/uploads... @Limbs4Life are very proud to provide a Peer Support Program which matches trained volunteers with new amputees requesting support. Our volunteers are willing to share their knowledge and lived experience to assist people during their transition to recovery.
